In 2021 we transformed the promenade and now look forward to making it an even lovelier riverside walk next year.
Some of the many projects recently accomplished by the volunteers:
✅ Created, planted and maintained River View Garden with trails for children and flowers for pollinators
✅ Planted over 100 metres of mixed hedging
✅ Celebrated a visit by The Mayor who officially opened The Pocket Park
✅ Planted over 2000 bulbs for the springtime
✅ Welcomed many visitors to the Pocket Park who were intrigued by their local oasis
✅ Planted, pruned and renovated all entrances on the promenade Renovated and planted up the ramp beds
✅ Launched this website !
✅ Outreached to a local school
✅ Renovated Victorian park seats
✅ Achieved 700 followers on our Instagram site
✅ Illustrated by leading local artist Lisa Tolley
✅ Drunk many cups of tea and ate too many biscuits
…………in a word, we’ve made a difference and enjoy putting the pride back into Kingston’s special Victorian promenade.
